Outreach Programs

Grace Point Ministries awakens at-risk youth to their power, unique gifts and purpose by matching them with caring mentors that provide the resources youth need to reach productive, conscious adulthood. We further seek to awaken society to the needs, promises and value of this overlooked population.

Our Vision is that young people are truly seen and not just watched, where society understands and accepts its responsibility in meeting the needs of all young people, and where young people bring their gifts back into their communities as productive members of society. The mentoring program, utilizes innovative ways to get more adults involved in mentoring programs. Our primary objective is to bring the youth to the workplace, making it as easy as possible for busy employees to participate and for kids to see professionals in action.

• Tutoring and mentoring – during school hours and in after school and community-based programs
• Social skill building activities, and conflict resolution
• Facilitating homework clubs, violence prevention activities, recreational activities, and more
• Giving out community referrals
• Hosting family engagement activities

This program is the combination of the Big Brother and Big Sister Program, but focus is on children of Prison Inmates. Because of the restraints and stress placed on the children of incarcerated parents, the children themselves sometime feel bound. This is a population that needs a lot of attention. Programs for children of inmates must endure in the absence of parental support, shall provide the following support:

• Sharing the love of JESUS!
• Sending birthday, Christmas cards, booklets; to uplift, inspire and encourage children of inmates.

This program specifically focuses on providing understanding, compassion, positive and supportive activities such as:

• Holiday celebration and gift projects for children of inmates
• Ministering to the hurt
• Providing individual and group emotional outlet and venue
• Providing individual and group extracurricular and communal activities
• Arrange Jail Visit and encourage letter writing to parents
• Because absence parental care can encourage family detachment, we assist in reuniting the family unit.

This program assists by providing the skills and knowledge they need to connect and reconnect with their families and to restore the family unit.

Our objective is to empower young men to emerge as fathers and accomplished leaders with the knowledge, skills and network they need to expand their impact on their respective families, communities and our society.
Grace Point Ministries will provide fatherhood information with a firm Biblical base aimed at changing men's lives and strengthening their families.

Grace Point will promote this growth by holding monthly meetings to facilitate interagency and national programs such as the 24/7 Dad™Power Hour. Developed by seasoned ministers, it is a revolutionary men’s small group study that helps men explore God’s intentions and design for fathers and families. Men will be encouraged to "Reach Up" to God and "Reach Out" to their families with activities and strategies to try at home. The program includes:

• Inside Out Dad™ Christian - This Biblically-based program reconnects inmates with their children and introduces them to the transforming power of the Gospel.
• Book Club and various educational brochures on being a good a father.
• Training: Training to provide a positive thought process by using experience elders and statesmen in our local communities to speak life into our young men.

It is the endeavor of Grace Point to continue to execute interagency and nationally-recognized programs that equip fathers to be rising leaders with the knowledge, skills and network they need to be successful; and to design and deploy new programs that serve to supply the increase in demand among a generation of leaders who are committed to making a difference, but require help in order to make their greatest impact!
